Summer is right around the corner and hot weather means hot fishing.

INSHORE fishing will offer snook, redfish and trout early in the mornings on top water lures. Chug bugs,Zara spooks, DOA Bait busters and Air heads will work best at first light through about 7:30 am. As the sun gets higher the fish will move into slightly deeper water. I like to switch to Yozuri 3D minnows, DOA CAL Jerk baits and Glow shrimp. The key is to get out early and take advantage of the low light and cool air. Watch for bait schools and fish close to them. Diversified bottom contour such as sandy pot holes amongst the grassy bottom provide ambush points for our target species.

NEARSHORE fishing along the beaches will offer tarpon, kings, false Albacore, permit & spanish  look for schools of glass minnows and pods of threadfin herring. Watch for birds working the bait schools. This fishing can be really exciting jumping from school to school, chasing the fish as they herd and crash the pods.

The BOILS at the outflow of the St Lucie Power plant will hold big snook, snapper, reds Tarpon and Permit. Weather permitting (calm seas) this fishery can be world class. I hope this brief synopsis of our summer fishery gets you psyched. I’m  ready to guide you to a great day on the water.
Hope to see you soon
